Designing an Intuitive Geospatial SaaS Platform

Overview

Spacesium is a SaaS platform built for industries like mining, surveying, and infrastructure. It helps users manage, visualize, and analyze 3D geospatial data. The platform allows users to upload site scans, view interactive 2D and 3D maps, measure distances and slopes, and manage projects, teams, and account data through a clean, functional interface.

I led the design of the entire product experience, including the SaaS dashboard, the 2D/3D data viewer, and the public marketing site.

Challenges

• Simplifying complex geospatial workflows for users with varying technical experience

• Balancing advanced functionality with a clean, accessible interface

• Maintaining consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile

• Designing an easy, secure way to publicly share project data without requiring accounts

Goals

• Create an intuitive dashboard for managing projects, accounts, and teams
